I’m excited to share it—it’s a keeper! Making pizza at home is more than just delicious—it’s also a way to support your health. Cooking from scratch lets you avoid processed ingredients and unhealthy seed oils, which can disrupt hormone balance. Instead, you can use wholesome fats like olive oil, which help keep hormones in harmony💞 Sourdough pizza crust Ingredients: - 2 cups warm water - 2 tbsp active dry yeast - 2 tsp sugar -2 tsp salt - 1/2 cup sourdough discard - 6 cups all-purpose flour - 2 tbsp olive oil Directions: 1. Activate the yeast: In a bowl, combine the warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Whisk till dissolved and let sit for about 5-10 minutes, until the yeast becomes foamy. 2. Add sourdough discard: Stir in the 1/2 cup of sourdough discard into the yeast mixture. Mix well. 3. Mix the dry ingredients: In a separate large bowl, combine the flour and salt. 4. Slowly add the flour, mixing as you go. Once it’s mostly combined, add in the olive oil. Knead the dough till it pulls into a ball about 5-10 min 6. Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl and cover it with a damp cloth or plastic wrap. Let it rise for 1-1.5 hours, or until it has doubled in size. 7. Shape and bake: Punch down the dough, then divide it into portions for pizza. This can be 2 or 3 crusts. Roll out to your desired thickness, add your favorite toppings, and bake in a preheated oven at 475 degrees for 10-12 minutes, or until the crust is golden and crisp. *To freeze: bake just crust at 475 degrees for 5 min. Allow to cool. Apply your favorite toppings and wrap in plastic wrap very well and I also wrap foil around it for extra protection. Remove and bake at 475 degrees for 10 min or until browned :)
